I am so frustrated right now and just need to get it out. I have been having this hip/groin pain going on for oh about 7-8 years now, when I sit down for a period of time and then I stand up I have excruciating pain in my groin.hip/joint where leg and hip meet. So bad that it is hard to walk. When it first starting happening it was when i sat in the little preschool chairs and so i thought that was why it happened. well over the years it is still there in fact in the past year it has worsened where it happens 2-3 times a week. So anyways I recently finally got medical insurance again since my son was born, and I asked the doctor about it and he was like well if it persists let me know and we can look into it, um cause 8 years isnt persisting right?!! So i went in and talked to him about it and also talked to him about things I also had questions about like my weight and why I cant lose even though I workout 5 days a week and eat healthy and even though i lost 40 pounds last year I cant seem to lose more even thought i am working harder at it. and he says oh yeah everyone says they cant gain weight but aren't really trying and Im like well I am trying and he asked what I eat on a daily basis and I told him and he was like ok and then was like ok we can do an xray for your hip and so I did and after over a week later he finally gets back to me and says xray came back with no signs of fracture or arthritis. I am like duh I kind of knew that already and so I emailed him and was like ok so what is the next step to figure out what this is or how i can fix it! and this was his response.....
Honestly, it appears to be some soft tissue inflammation that is aggravated by sitting for longer periods. It gets stretched when you stand and you feel the short, sharp pain. I think it is going to take time. I can refer you to physical therapy which can help. I think you need to lose some weight and get more exercise to help condition this area as well. Let me know if you would like me to refer you to physical therapy.
So Im like really?!!?Did you not hear me when I told you I exercise daily for 60 minutes or more and I run 3 days a week so don't you think it would be conditioned! Also I have lost weight and oh it got worse! Also It is not a short sharp pain it is an excruciating pain that lasts 5-10 minutes, and I am trying to lose weight but am only gaining even though I am staying the same measurements. So I am like do your job! Don't just look at what my weight is and assume I am unhealthy. I can't stand people that do that! Just because you are bigger doesn't necessarily mean you are unhealthy and don't exercise. Take me and my husband He eats so bad and unhealthy and doesn't workout much and I eat healthy and workout constantly yet I am bigger than he is, people do this all the time they just automatically think he is healthier than me. I am just so frustrated and I want answers but all I ever get from doctors is that I need to exercise and lose weight and etc... Is it so hard to ask that a doctor actually care and want to help. Its not like I think anything major is wrong with my hip but I want some kind of answer because when I am holding a child while sitting and go to stand with them in my arms and cant walk it becomes a little hazardous to my job. Also I cant open my legs very wide for too long or it hurts. So I just want to know what to do to help, maybe the PT will be able to help but how can they when they don't know what it is?
I am just so tired of never ever having a doctor that actually wants to help. Why can't we have doctors like the ones on TV that actually care about their patients, that is why they make the big bucks isn't it? Just saying
