What is a friend?
Well there many different definitions to the word friend! Some people call everyone their friend, some people friends are only the people who share in their life some people a friend is someone they hang out with every once in a while. What is a friend to you.
Some people claim they don't need a friend but deep down is that the truth. I would have to say no!
I have really bad days every once in a while and I think oh I should call my friend, but then think no I don't want to be a bother to her I should just take care of this on my own. I shouldn't need to rely on someone else to help me through what I'm going through. As I pray about this I find that that statement is so far from the truth. We NEED friends to help us talk through things whether we think we do or not. Truth is we do. We were created to have relationships. we need to get together with friends so they can help us see things in a different light. So many times I just talk to a friend and I can view my situation in a different light. Sometimes we need that outsiders view.
Friend, here’s a reality we often don’t like but that can set us free: too much independence leads to sin dependence.
In other words, the needs of our hearts are going to get met one way or another. When it comes to our struggles, God intended for them to get met in relationships. We need “Jesus with skin on". If that doesn't happen, we’re going to fill the void in ways that are not his best for us.
I think many Christians including myself sometimes believe that if we have God we don't need anyone else. but truth is God uses other people to talk to us. God even says "it is not good for man to be alone" I take this as I need to not be alone in my life.
When we don’t connect with the body of Christ then we will form an unhealthy relationship with something else like food, alcohol or material possessions. Here’s the reality: it can feel safer to go through life disconnected. But it’s actually impossible to do so. Our hearts will bond with something.
We are all made for relationships whether you think so or not. And, yes, we’re connected to God but we are also created to experience his love through other people. If we are constantly being "alone" then we are living in conflict with God’s design for us. You’re responsible for connecting with someone, even if its not a deep friendship at first. I hope you hear the love in those words, friend.
Our hearts desperately cry out for relationship, so we need to stop and listen.
If you need people in your life you should ask God to bring them to you wherever you, you just need to have your heart open and ready for them. And you need to actually open up and share or your "friendship" will just be one that is shallow and has no depth.

If you already have good friendships ask God how you can go even deeper in bonding with these people.
Iread this on someone elses blog and agree 100%
Our need for others is not a weakness. It’s a strength. Perhaps our greatest one!!! SO true
